I am a Project Manager at EPCC, the high performance computing
consultancy centre within the University of Edinburgh. My
academic background is in computational mathematics and I have B.A. in Mathematics from New College, Oxford and a Ph.D. in
Computation Mathematics from the University of Strathclyde.
My contributions to NAIS cover project-management, research and training. My research interests are focused on programming models and algorithm design for next-generation supercomputers.

Lorna Smith is a Group Manager at EPCC at the University of Edinburgh. Her current research interests focus on exascale research and she has led EPCC’s work within the European Exascale Software Initiative (EESI). EPCC currently hosts and operates the UK National HPC service and through working on both this and the previous HPCx service she has considerable experience of developing and optimising large scale HPC applications across diverse scientific fields including Fusion, genetics and chemistry.

Dawn joined NAIS as Knowledge Transfer Officer in November 2010. She has a background in scientific research project and bid management. With over 10 years experience in industry, her role is to support the NAIS community engagement with external stakeholders to maximise the relevance of NAIS research and identify the most successful routes for working together.
